Important information about the construction, use and restrictions when using our Ultima Hoses:

The red outer pvc cover is primarily cosmetic, and although it offers some protection from contaminants to the hose, it does not offer any pressure containing properties. The outer cover is trimmed back from the best fill hose ends during assembly, and sometimes the stainless pressure bearing braid is visible where the hose enters the ferrule. This does not affect the hoses performance in any way, but we do try and just pinch it in the ferrule for cosmetic reasons.

The Teflon Hose Liner is HPG (High Pressure Gas) heat treated, so in theory should be impervious to most gasses, however this process is not 100% guaranteed and as a standard safety precaution the outer cover has micro perforations to allow any build up of pressure to escape rather than to inflate the outer cover like a large balloon. We only warrant our Ultima Hoses for use with normal breathing air, and it is not certified for use with dangerous, poisonous, flammable or oxidizing gases. We do not recommend using our hoses with noble gases with really small molecules like helium or argon, as these are more prone to leaking through the liner. That said, leaks are still quite rare.
